Happy Home and School For The Blind

A field trip to Happy Home School for the blind was organised for the students of Form 2. The students saw partially sighted children learning carpentry and preparing to live a dignified and independent life. They also saw the visually challenged children learning to read using Braille and write on a slate with a stylus. They saw children learning Mathematics using the Abacus.

CONSOLIDATING CLASSROOM LEARNING

Students of Form 2 enjoyed learning about the different kinds and types of plants, their uses and the raincreatures.

Durshet Forest Resort

Form 4 had been on a Nature's trail to Durshet Forest Resort. The river Amba flows through this forest making it an awesome experience. The children also visited a rice plantation and acquired an experiential understanding of farming, especially paddy cultivation and the various processes involved, right from its beginning as a seed to it reaching the market. To add to the joy of learning, children also participated in a variety of adventurous sports that challenged their physical skills.

Form 2 - A trip to ‘Traffic Park’ to learn the different road signs and road safety rules.

JIJAMATA UDYAN

Form 3 students went for a field trip to Jijamata Udyan to learn more about ‘Classification of animals’ which is a chapter in Science and ‘Directions’, a chapter from Geography. In this way the subjects of Science and Geography were integrated in an environment and setting in the midst of life. Students prepared charts and banners which advocated that our society should become more aware and humane and stop cruelty to animals.

FIRE STATION AND POLICE STATION

Form 3 students visited the Fire station as well as the Police station which was very informative. The students even got an opportunity to watch flamingoes and other rare species of birds. It was equally exciting to know about salt pans.

The students of Form 3 visited the Jijamata Udyaan and Dr. Bhau Daji Lad Museum on 10th August. The students saw different types of birds and observed different features of the birds. In the museum, the students saw the mini clay models of the people of different religions and regions. They also saw mini models of different settlements tradition and occupations which they have learned in Social Studies. The trip was a great source of knowledge for the kids.
